Cranston Hysong

Cranston began his 31 year head coaching career at Winslow High School in 1970 where he coached the Bulldogs for 11 years.  Hysong was also a head coach at both Tolleson and Westview for 10 years each.  Coach Hysong's teams won over 271 track meets and won over 60% of them overall.  Cranny's track teams have won 5 Arizona State Championships, placed second 4 times, and were region champions 9 times.  The Arizona Interscholastic Association named Coach Hysong the 3A North Track Coach of the Year on three occasions.  Coach Hysong was named the Region 8 Coach of the Year by the National High S

Waldo Lee Bast

Coach Waldo Lee Bast led the Prescott Badgers in Track and Field for 30 years (1929-1968).  The Badgers were the State Champions in 1952 and the State Runners-Up in 1932.  Bast's teams were also the league champions in track 5 times.  Coach Bast was selected the Coach of the Year in 1932, 34, and 35. 

Hugh Morrison

Hugh Morrison had a coaching career of 37 years--27 in Arizona.  He coached 20 years of football, 16 years of cross-country, and 37 years of track and field.  His cross-country dual meet boy's teams won 139, lost 57, and tied 1.  He had two boy's divisional championships and three girl's divisional championships.  He coached the ACA All Stars in 1976.  When he retired from Alhambra High School after 27 years his track teams had won 11 league meet titles, 3 city dual meet titles, and 6 divisional championships.  Morrison's overall record in track was 144-42-1.  Coach Morrison was a member of

Dale Torrence

After beginning his career in Safford, AZ, Dale Torrence was the head track and cross country coach at West High School in the Phoenix Union District from 1954-75.  Coach Torrence was instrumental in the establishment of prep Cross Country in Arizona and was the first state meet organizer/director. His original Cross Country Meet at Papago Park ballooned into becoming the State Cross Country Track Meet.

Robert "Bob" Schuster

Bob Schuster was a charter member of the Arizona Coaches Hall of Fame in 1984.  Coach Schuster was one of the most successful prep track coaches in the state of Arizona from the late 1950's to the late 1980's.  Coach graduated from the University of Missouri and taught his first few years in that state.  He came to Arizona to Miami High School and later moved to South Mountain.  After a long career, Coach Schuster capped his success with the Class 5A State Title at Phoenix Maryvale in 1986.  Schuster had a string of 5A State Titles at Phoenix South Mountain High School where his Rebels were

Bary Judd

Bary Judd coached boys and girls track at St. David High School in southeastern Arizona for over 20 years.  His male St. David Tigers were the 1978, 1979, and, twenty years later, the 1998 Class 1A State Track Champions. The boys were also the State Runners-Up in 1974 and 1994.  They were third at the State Meet in 1972, 1983, and 1996.   His Lady Tigers were the 1980, 1984, 1993, and 1994 State Champions.  The girls were also the State Runners-Up 5 more times and third at the State Meet twice.  Coach Judd's girls were also the 1A State Runners-Up in basketball in 1982.
