Dan Mannix

Coach Dan Mannix made his mark coaching the Sunnyslope Vikings in the 4A conference.  Mannix's Vikes were the State Class 4A Champions in 2002 and 2009. The Arizona Republic chose Coach Mannix as the large schools Coach of the Year in 2002.   Coach Dan's boys were also the State Runners-Up in 2001 and 2010.  The gymnasium at Sunnyslope now bears the Mannix name. 

Valorie McKenzie

Valorie McKenzie was the head volleyball coach at Horizon High School since they opened the doors in 1980.  Her Huskies were the State 5A Champions in 2009, 2010, and 2012.  The Huskies were the State Runners-Up in 2000, and 2011.  Coach McKenzie has been honored by being the National Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2014, the Arizona Coaches Association Coach of the Year, the Arizona Republic's 5A Coach of the Year, and has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Victory Award for over 700 wins in her career.  Coach McKenzie's Huskies won their 800th game in October of 2

Paul Williams

Paul Williams has been a very successful girls track coach at Cactus High School for over 20 years.  Coach Williams has led his Lady Cobras to five 4A State Track Titles (1987, 1999, 2000, 2007, and 2008).  Williams' teams were the State Runners-Up twice (2005, 2008), and third in the state meet twice (1988, 2010).  One of Paul's athletes, Jessica McDonald, set the state 4A record in the 400 meters in 2005 (55.26).

Horace "HT" Clothier

H.T. Clothier had a long and successful career coaching Tennis in southeastern Arizona at Duncan High School.  In a career that spanned over 30 years, Coach Clothier's Duncan Wildkats managed to stack more state titles than any other school in this sport.  Coach Clothier's players won State Titles in 1937,44,45,46,47, 56, 57, 60, 62, 68, 70, 73, and 1974 for a grand total of 13 titles.  The Wildkats managed to earn another 8 State Runners-Up during the same period, for a whopping 21 appearances in the finals of the state tennis tournament.

Jim Beall

Jim Beall is a career high school football coach with several stops, good stops, along the way.  Jim coached at Ray, Snowflake, Payson, and Higley.  Jim's 1991 and 92 Snowflake teams were state champions.  Jim's 1998 Payson team broke Blue Ridge's 65 game win streak in the title game.  Coach Beall has been active in the coach's association and participated in the All-Star games.
