In addition to the Arizona Coaches Hall of Fame, Al is also a member of the Arizona Boxing Hall of Fame, Top Rank Hall of Fame, and the Arizona Hispanic Sports Hall of Fame. Two of Coach Munoz' six children ended up in public school coaching, as well. Mr. Munoz finished his career as an administrator in the Glendale School District at Independence High School. Al Munoz retired with just under 40 years of public education and athletics. The greatest portion of Al's coaching career was at Glendale High School where his Cardinals were always a formidable foe. Coach Munoz passed away in 2007. One of Al's sons, Zachary, earned his PhD, and is now the Director of Athletics for the Phoenix Union High School District.
