Earl "Tiny" Putman was a highly successful football coach at Moon Valley High School. Earl was formerly the Treasurer for the HOF Executive Board for years. Coach Putman was an undefeated state champion at 14-0 in 1982. His MV Rockets were state runners-up in 1986. Earl was instrumental in the Arizona Coaches Association and coached as well as administered the summer All-Star games on several occasions. Coach Putman played center for the Chicago Cardinals (Arizona Cardinals way back when) before he became a high school coach. Earl's favorite quote, "there's no coaching going on unless you win at least 4 games." Coach Putman was inducted into the National High School Athletic Association's Hall of Fame in 1997. Earl was THE major contributor in building the original Hall of Fame Display in the Arizona Coliseum. The stadium at Moon Valley High School now bears the Putman name.
