Hector Bejarano will always be remembered as a great basketball coach and a great leader of the Hispanic community. Coach "B", as he was fondly called, led the North High School Mustangs to five Division 4A-II State Basketball Championship appearances. The Mustangs were the best in 1988, 1990, and 1991. Bejarano's boys were State Runners-Up twice in a row (1986 and 1987) to Carl Hayden by the tight scores of 50-48 and 50-47. Coach "B" passed away in 2009
