Bo “Bear” Whitelock

Bo “Bear” Whitelock was a very successful Boys Basketball Coach at Ajo and Window Rock High Schools, where his teams won state titles at both sites (Ajo in 1987 and Window Rock in 1995). Whitelock’s Fighting Scouts were also the State Runners-Up in 1994. Coach Whitelock also coached Ajo to a Baseball State Runners Up in 1985. Whitelock was inducted into the Arizona High School Coaches Hall of Fame in 1997, the National Coaches Hall of Fame in 2002, and was the president of the National Coaches Association in 2014. Coach was responsible for many of the National inductees from Arizona from 2002 to 2018 before his passing. The 7,000+ field house for Window Rock’s basketball program is a testimony of Whitelock’s presence in that community in the 1990’s.
