Jimmy Jones has long been a very successful football coach in the state of Arizona. He has coached football and track since the late 1970's and has returned from retirement to be the head coach at Mesquite High School. Jimmy was an outstanding athlete back in the 1960's at Antelope High School. He coached at Bullhead City Mohave High School back in the late '70's and early 80's. Coach Jones eventually moved to the Valley and was very successful as the track coach at Mesa Westwood. His Warriors were the Class 5A State Runners-Up in 1986. The Warriors were than the back-to-back State Champions in 1987 and 1988. It was at Red Mountain High School, however, that Jimmy Jones hit his full stride. The Mountain Lions were the back to back Class 5A State Football Champions in 2000 and 2001.
