Kenneth Smith was the head baseball coach at Benson High School from 1972 to 1992. His 1987 Benson Bobcats were the Arizona State Class 2A State Champions. Coach Smith's teams were also the State Runners-Up in 1974 and 1992. Smith's teams compiled a record of 316 wins and only 153 losses during his tenure. Coach was very active in the Arizona Coaches Association and assisted frequently in the All-Star games during the 70's and 80's. He served on many committees and groups supporting high school baseball. Smith was the "go to guy" for the summer All Star players in the southeast corner of Arizona during his career.
