Richard "Rich" Bratt was a career high school basketball coach and PE teacher in the northeastern sections of Arizona. Coach Bratt began his career in Holbrook in 1969 after graduating from The Ohio State University. He moved to Joseph City as the head basketball coach and then to Winslow. Rich retired from teaching but continued coaching basketball after his Winslow days in Hopi, Ganado, Tuba City, St. Johns and Leupp. Rich was best known for his years in Winslow. Coach Bratt accumulated over 500 wins in his 31 years of coaching. He was selected the Region Coach of the Year 11 times. His teams won 13 Divisional Championships. Bratt coached the ACA All Star Game on 3 different occasions and he was the ACA Game Dedicatee in 2000. Coach Bratt's Winslow Bulldogs were the 1988 and 1995 Class 3A State Runners-Up. Coach Bratt passed away at his home in Winslow on October 15, 2015.
