Roy Fenton was recognized by his alma mater Eastern Illinois University as the Outstanding Educator in the 2010 alumni awards. Fenton spent his career at Dysart High School on Phoenix west side coaching primarily track. Fenton's dual track meet recored was an unbelievable 144-4. His Dysart Demons won 6 Class 3A State Track Titles, and his Lady Demons won one. Coach Fenton has been inducted into 5 Halls of Fame with the last being the National High School Athletic Coaches Association in 2010. Roy was the keynote speaker at the National Symposium for Outdoor Education in Carefree, Arizona in 1979. Coach Fenton passed away in July of 2021 in Phoenix.
