Richard Gray was a successful football coach in high school and college for over 33 years. Coach Gray spent time at Shadow Mountain, Horizon, Gilbert, Chandler, and the Arizona Boy's Ranch. His early 2000's Arizona Boys Ranch teams were among the best at the 3A level. The Boy's Ranch teams were State Runners-Up in 2002 and 2003. Coach Gray was an All Star Coach in 2001 and 2005. Coach Gray also was a Defensive Line Coach at Northern Arizona University. Richard was the Arizona State Coach of the Year in 1981 and 2002. Coach Gray is a lifetime member of the Arizona Coaches Association. Richard was a scholarship football athlete to Arizona State University from Lincoln High School in California. Gray was a member of Frank Kush's 1970 National Championship football team. Coach Gray passed away on December 24, 2015.
