Sue has been a head track and field coach for 38 years, eight years at Tolleson Union High and 30 years at Westview High, and remains an active coach today. Her teams have won the State Title four times, been Runner-up once, captured Region Titles on 10 occasions and posted a 75% winning percentage. Sue has been named State Coach of the Year twice, received the AIA’s prestigious Outstanding Leadership in Athletics Award and has served as a staff member of the Great Southwest Meet of Champions whenever hosted in Arizona, as well as, a member of the management staff of the Arizona State Championships for 20 years. She is a truly a woman for all seasons, as in addition to her incredible track and field achievements, she has coached gymnastics and volleyball and served as a Student Council Advisor and Department Chair. Sue and her husband Cranston "Cranny" Hysong are the only husband and wife combination in the AHSACAHOF, both of them in track.
