Tom's high school baseball career began in 1975 when he accepted a teaching and assistant baseball coaching position at Casa Grande High School. One year later he relocated to Brophy College Preparatory in the same role. By 1978 he was the Brophy head coach. He has continued in this role at Brophy for an incredible 39 years. His Broncos won the Division I State Baseball Championship in 2006 and were the State Runners-Up in 1982, 2007, and 2012. In addition to 5 region championships, the Broncos have won 681 times for a 66% winning percentage over the 39 years. Early in the 2016 season Succow's boys earned him his 700th career victory. Coach Succow was named the National Coach of the Year by the American Baseball Coaches Association in 2006. Succow was named the Region 7 Coach of the Year in 2012 by the National Baseball Coaches. Coach Succow has been named Arizona State Baseball Coach of the Year on 2 occasions and has been the Desert Valley Coach of the Year 7 times. Tom coached the Arizona All-Star team in 1978 and 1982. Coach served as a committee member of the National High School Baseball Coaches Association from 2002 through 2006. Coach Succow remains active on the Arizona Board of Directors of the Arizona Baseball Coaches' Association and has been their Secretary/Treasurer since 2000.
