For over 50 years, Scott Giddings has been successfully coaching distance

runners in cross country and track. While he started as an assistant coach at

Washington High in 1970, he has been Greenway’s Head Cross Country Coach

since 1974 and was also Head Girl’s Track Coach from 1995 to 2022. During

that time, his teams won two State Championships (Cross Country and Girl’s

Track) along with three State XC runner-up finishes. His cross country teams

have won 19 Division, Region and Sectional Championships along with a

multitude of invitationals. Coach Giddings was awarded Arizona Coaches

Association Cross Country Coach of the Year honors in 1998 and 2005.
